McCormick CX 105
HI,

I inherited the McCormick tractor and have tried to disc and drag a field to level it.
I can not make the disc go into the ground more than half to one inch. (6 foot disc)
I have read to operators manual and can not figure out all the controls.

Today I hooked up a gopher machine and it did the same thing.

How do you set the controls to adjust the depth of the tool?

A couple of suggestions:
Make sure your draft control is disengaged. If it's very sensitive, it may be lifting your three-point hitch as your disc begins to cut in. You won't need draft control with a tractor that size and a small disc like that.
Make sure your top link is long enough to allow the disc to actually drop farther into the soil.
If the ground is hard, a lightweight 6' disc isn't going to penetrate well into undisturbed soil. You might need to add weight and/or wait for rain with much of Texas.
