how does a person read the serial number tag.i have a international 2500 would like to know the year.

I don't do a lot with the industrial line but have plenty of books. I wonder if the number you gave me is right as it doesn't look like typical numbers that IH used.
With the 037 at the start it would tell me it's a 1970 the first year and the 37th built.
My book doesn't give the serial number location so I can't help you with out looking.

there is a tag on the left side as you are sitting on tractor.in front of the clutch,like the bell housing.i want to thank you for your time.i have helped different people and they don't even take the time to get back to you.thank you.
