Separate Area for \"how to\" or \"tips and tricks\"

A lot of guys show lots of good tips tricks and how to....with a lot of detail maybe we should have a area for that. heck even have it where most of us can't post in it but have to request from TBN that something "good" that was posted be "saved" to it. I tend to "foget" were a saw stuff

Re: Separate Area for \"how to\" or \"tips and tricks\"

I guess my first thought about that would be that that is what the Favorite Thread feature is for, to save a thread that a person is particularly interested in.

Granted, we don't always realize that we may want to save a thread at the time that we view it. But then that's what the Search feature is for. Even if a separate forum were to be created for "how to's" or "tips and tricks", you'd still end up having to do a search for the particular topic that you were interested in finding.

Unless I'm missing part of your idea, or just not getting it, I'm not sure I see how it would be much different than it is now? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Did you have some other categorizing method in mind?

I had mentioned an "article" section, based on my other favorite, YTmag they have a section for just that, articles on how to, tips, ect. Check out the Articles there... They are geared towards antiques, but a lot of the info is pertinent.

Bingo.....and to give an example a guy did a video clip on installing a mmm deck on a kubota bx....Search did not find it...plus what I was thinking would be the how to only not all the other talk about it...

Re: Separate Area for \"how to\" or \"tips and tricks\"

Hey Chucko,

It is a good thought. This is the way progress happens. Someone comes up with an idea and throws it out for discussion. It doesn't matter whether it's good, bad, or indifferent. What it does is to get other ideas going. Pretty soon, after discussion and review, a whole new idea surfaces that can be worked into the existing process. SO that very first idea ended up making chnages for the better, even if the idea itself wasn't used as presented.

It's ideas like yours that will help Muhammad and his guys to continue to always work to make TBN better and better. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
