selling LOTS of hay

We're paying $13 to $15 for a 90 lbs square bale of Orchard.

that $2.75 a bale is most likely small squares. most hay here goes for around 2.75 for poor to fair quality and 3.50 plus for the better stuff if you buy from the field or barn. the local feed stores are about double that/

Real dry spring and early summer has everyone wanting for hay here in Georgia. Many fields never got a first cutting and a lot of cattle ranchers are selling herds early. I hear that many of the cattle are going to Texas now that they are getting rain this year after two years of drought.

Currently we have no hay at all

It has been raining in England since June.

Half of the country is flooded

You can't buy any hay at the moment as no one has any. There is some silage and haylage but it is about £7.00 ($12?) for a small square bale. I hope the weather gets better soon so we can get ours cut

I saw someone baling some today but it was raining when the cut it so I think it is going to be way to wet for the horses

I never think of the UK as a dry area but this year has been terrible for you. There has been some film coverage of your rains on our national news. What a mess. Guess it is a good year to spend some quality time at the local pub.

Our small squares are about 45 to 60 lbs depending . Wow those prices out your way are crazy ! To bad I couldnt beam you over a few hundred bales !

We have some friends who live in one of the worst hit areas. They have had no mains water for over 2 weeks. They have been evacuated now. They said that they don't know where any of their or their neighbours cars are, the last they saw of them is when they were floating down the street

I just had a micro-burst of R A I N.

First time in like 7 weeks!!!!!!

I doubt I'll be cutting any nore grass this year. Forget the hay in this area.

I am pretty sure the gov. will declare the area a disaster region in the next week.

Too bad for us.

I know how you feel... last year we were in extreme drought... officially....round bales were $90 each... and you couldn't find any.

My Beefmaster cows had their hardiness tested last year and winter. No supplemental hay at all.

So far this year we already have our annual rainfall... and still raining, even today. Cut hay is laying down in the rain.

Cows are fat as butterballs, grass knee high everywhere ... and last year it looked kinda like a tennis court...

Weather goes in cycles... more folks go broke when it's dry than when it's wet.
