I have a B7800 which I'm looking to sell. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions as to the best venue for doing this. Are there good online sites, or am I better off with an ad in the local paper?

What I'm looking for, of course, is for someone to show up with cash and say they would like to pay top dollar. :)

Well, you may be in luck.

A friend is looking for a tractor - and I've been trying to convince him to go with the B7800. He's in Essex, VT... just about close enough to drive it away!

What attachments do you have for it? What year? How many hours?

As for pricing, figure there's 10-12% wiggle room in the on-line prices at Riverside Tractor in Montpelier - and another 10% less than that for a private sale, unless you plan on warrantying it for a year + providing the service... as one would get from a dealer.

Bxowner,

Thanks for the info. I got the tractor, new, from Riverside in August of 05. It has just over 300 hours on it. It has the backhoe, rear blade, FEL, separate forks, and "ice pic" chains. It also has a canopy. It has a midmount PTO, spacers for rear wheels, rear tires are loaded, also has block heater. It does have a cosmetic dent in the hood where a tree kissed it. From what I can see at "Iron Dealer" I figure it should be worth somewhere in the $19000 range.

Sometimes a dealer can be a good go-between.
Dave of Davestractors is located in my area. I like to drop by occasionally to visit and see what he's taken in trade. Last summer I mentioned that I was looking for a Massey Ferguson 135. Dave emailed me a few weeks later saying that one of his customers is looking to buy a new Branson tractor and has a MF-135 to sell. Long story short, I now own a nice 1966 MF-135 diesel and the Seller has a spiffy new Branson.

Flusher,

Thanks, good idea. I'll see if I can get my dealer to help.

Don't be scared to give it a try on ebay. Sure there are some scams going on but you have that anywhere. To run an auction on ebay it will probably cost you about $150 but you will get a national audience and the Kubotas seem to be in demand. If you go that route be sure to post some good pics, have your tractor looking shiny and sharp and be honest about the blemishes. (You already mentioned the ding on the hood which tells me you are an honest person).

If you take a PayPal payment make it for a down payment only because it will cost you 2.9% of amount.

Have you looked at putting it on Craigslist? It doesn't cost anything. I like it better than ebay because it tends to be more local. I don't know if they have a listing for your area. If not try the city they do have closest to you. Of course I would like to buy a B7800 but I don't want to pay top dollar and the shipping would be incredible
