A self leveling loader allows the operator to maintain the same bucket angle while raising or lowering the bucket. You can always change the relationship between the two by extending or retracting the bucket. As soon as you release the extend/retract for the bucket, that relationship or bucket angle stays the same regardless of whether you raise or lower the bucket. Some applicatios where it is very useful is when forks are put on the loader. The forks will stay at the same position from where they were on the ground to the full raised position and vice versa.
