Seat safety switch

I have a TC30 and untill recently I could start and let run the tractor while not seated, as long as the brake was set and the the range put in neutral.
Is there an adjustment for the seat safety switch that allows the tractor to run when not in the seat and all other safety things are set? Thanks for any info. JM

You may have a PTO switch/lever engaged that might affect the start process.

I assume if the PTO switch were engaged the tractor would not start while I was in the seat. Is this not correct?

My guess is that your parking brake switch is not functioning properly. Do you have a parking brake light illuminated on the dash? It could be an adjustment of the switch or even bad contacts.

I think I need to clarify my problem, I can start the tractor with no problems
while in the seat.
When I want to get off the tractor I lock the brake put it in neutral, both gear and range. Make sure the PTO is not engaged,then when I get off the tractor It dies, it did not do this before. So I assume it has to do with the seat switch.
Also I can push down on the seat while off the tractor it will start as soon as I remove the pressure it dies.

Do you have a mid PTO ?

Your seat switch is working perfectly. Don't be distracted by that. The problem is that your parking brake being ON is NOT being sensed. That's why the tractor dies. The tractor thinks you just got out of the seat with the brake off, so it shuts down. Check the parking brake switch. You'll be happy you did.

Jinman, You were right on with checking the brake switch, one wire was broken, I spliced soldered and taped it works great.
