Still getting used to my new to me 2520. How many people actually use their seat belt?

vintagemilano use the seatbelt, even if you have to cash in on the seatbelt 1 time during the ownership, it will be well worth it

I use my seatbelt pretty much all the time for a couple of reasons. Our place is pretty rough and the seatbelt keeps me from getting thrown around as much. It also helps me get that "seat of the pants" feedback on what the tractor is doing. Lastly, if I do ever roll this thing not being belted in makes the ROPS just another hard piece of metal that can squish me like a bug.

I wear my seatbelt on my tractor whenever I'm on it. To put this in perspective I've never worn my seatbelt in my truck and often ride my MC without my helmet. For some reason my gut tells me when I'm on the tractor wear it.

I wear mine whenever I am using the loader and in unfamiliar places. Finish mowing on my lawn even though I have some steep slopes I don't.

All the time, with the occasional exception of backing out of the garage.

I use the seat belt when I have the rollbar up. I do not if the roll bar is down.

Use it all the time, same as in the car. Engine on; seat belt gets snapped on.

Only bloody idiots, like the NJ governor, don't wear seat belts.

I put them in my cars before they required them.

I'll pass that on to my best friend who lost a daughter because she drowned in 10' of water before she could get her belt unbuckled fast enough.

You're entitled to your opinion but remember the other guy is entitled to his.

Much more likely to die from NOT using the seat belt than from using the seat belt.

In twenty five years of running around in ambulances and fire engines I've only seen a few freak examples of people that benefitted from not wearing a safety belt. I couldn't count the number of people I've seen that were more injured or killed for not wearing one.

There are always rare exceptions.

I like to think that if you seek to develop good habits and keep from developing poor habits that you are more likely to live longer and healthier. But again there are always exceptions.

When I was 22 years old I was in a bad car accidenet. I did not have my seat belts on. If I would have I would not be here today as the car exploded on impact and I was thrown out the front window. I am one of them freak accidents where the seat belt would have gone against me. However, to this day I still believe in seat belts and wear them every time I get in the car. Why, because freak accidents are rare and second because my children always asked me to put them on and it is habit now.

Yes, with the ROPS, it's imperative that you wear it. And to my understanding, that extends to that it's not a good idea to wear it if the unit is not equipped with an ROPS aslo.

That's correct...

With a ROPS, you want to stay with the machine. Without a ROPS, you want to jump...

Why guard against a rare freak accident by not wearing a seat belt when it increases your risk of death or injury from the common more frequent accidents.
Leave the belt off and you just might not live long enough to get involved in a rare freak accident.

I will wear the belt because I don't want to die to prevent a freak accident .

I wear the belt when on uneven ground or using FEL with heavy stuff, or 3ph with any speed other than creep.

I have a cab so ROPS is always there, also glass and handles that reduce risk of being tossed under wheels.

So, slow and familar and in/out of cab, I don't snap it. HST transmission at creep speed, allows very precise control.

Really working loaded and extended periods, I wear it.
