I have a John Deere 1020 serial #79000. Gas engine serial #123000. Does the engine and clutch need split to put seal and bushing on tach input cable. Also does the end of tach have a seal to keep oil from going up cable. From what I see there is a bushing I believe T31437. Can it be put on from the outside of housing. Parts man gave me seal T21827 I don’t see it on any diagrams. It is a small white washer 1/2” diameter with 1/8 hole in center. Does it go over cable end of tach it is about the same size of the cable drive.

There is washer P/N R26919 that goes between the clutch housing and the flywheel housing. T31437 goes on the tach cable, then cable installs into clutch housing.

T21827 is used when no tach, it installs into clutch housing from the outside, then a plug goes in, rather than a tach cable.

Parts man might know this is a labor saver to install T21837 into the clutch housing then the tach cable (don't forget the bushing T31437), if you forgot R26919 when you did a clutch split???

I would install T21837 if I forgot R26919.
