Seal

I have a JD 4310. Has anyone had problems with the mid-pto seal getting ruined due grass wrapping around the pto? I used poor judgement and mowed grass that show have been brush hogged but didn't think it would hurt (brush hog was at my father in-law's). Now the mid pto seal is leaking badly. Is the seal fairly easy to change or will it need to go to the shop?
