live in oklahoma also built a new home in 2007 on 2.5 acres & seem to find 10-15 a year without even trying, so this year I'am armed with a black light to go hunting it's now early april & found the first one in the garage. they are tuff critters have doused with diesel & gasoline & it doesn't phase them gonna try clorox. Iam convinced how they get in my house is @ the base of the door, but not because of any gap but because they get in the crack @ the base of the door below the hinge & sit there when you open the door they come in thur the back side of the door & you never see them, so have learned to open the door quick & look & if i forgot to open quick will look behind the door & thats where i have found a few. never have found them when the suns up always always @ nite have did alot of research on google & texas & arizona seem to the worst. My hope is the black lite bought one late last year & was impressed with how well it worked they do glow, also heard but not a solution for me is Chickens they supposedly love scorpions but i have a 110 pound doberman that would really love the chickens, so i will keep you informed with my tactics this year of 2012

Killed 3 last year in the house, many over the years. I'll take scorpions though, over a Brown recluse (SP) spider. I've killed several of the BR. The trade offs of living in the woods I guess.

We never had scorpions til last year. Have had a problem with spiders for several years. Kinda wonder if the drought had any thing to do with it last year. Dont have a black lite but will go out late at nite with a flashlight and find them on the slab or crawling on the hardy plank. I buy demon at the feed store and mix it in a two gallon sprayer and spray the slab and seems and around doors and windows. This works for a while then a few months later will do it again. Ten dollars spent, not too bad.
