schrade old timer knives, what is your opinion

Picked me up an 8ot tonight.. Nice knife. Just wondering what your thoughts on them were?? and also what uses have you found for the different blades?? I am sure i will figure out real quick what blade is best for what chore.. Your thoughts appreciated!!

The Schrade and Old Timer knives are a good knife. They are a good blade and easy to get a good edge on them. The Buck knives are my favorite. They are very hard and tougher than nails to get an edge on but once you get one sharp they will go a long time in between sharpenings.

Old timers are good knives... carried one for a long time till I broke the long pointed blade prying on somthing. (don't do that) I'm currently carrying a gerber single blade lockback with a thumbturn. No particular reason, I just like it.

I have a 7- OT I carried as my work knife when I was a mechanic. It's a good knife but it's not stainless, the blade will rust easily. My pocket knife is a Buck 110. It seems to hold an edge better but I don't use it as a chisel and gasket scraper as much. Best of all, no rust!

I came by a 25 OT found in an appartment I moved into in 1983. Keep it handy in the garage and have used it for almost everthing you can think of, and carry a small 3-blade 3401 in my pocket. Excellent knives, easy to sharpen and will hold an edge fairly well.
