I have a Briggs powered Freedom Z48 that is 5 years old with about 240 hours on it that I am very pleased with. The commercial duty units are even better.
I have 2 good dealers in the area and many landscapers use Scags exclusively.

I have a Wildcat with 25hp Kohler and 61" deck.
ITs a commercial model I purchased off of a friend in the mowing business. 2900 hrs, but new hydros @ 2000, and a brand new engine @ 2700hrs.
I couldnt be happier. Not sure if others models or brands are this way, but one thing I like is the really wide front tires. Dad has a Bobcat 23hp/61" cut (very similar). But his front tires are ony ~3" wide. I think my front swivel tires are like 5" wide. Excellent for the way my property lays wet/muddy.

I have 2 Scag mowers. A 36" gear and a 48" hydro. The 36 has a Kohler and the 48 has a Kawi. We have had zero problems with the 48 and only a few issues with the 36. None of the problems have been with the mower, just the Kohler and the carb. They are what all other mowers compare themselves to, so that in itself tells you something. I don't know what you are looking at but even though the hydro is quite a bit more than the belt drive, I honk it is money well spent. I demoed a V Ride last spring and liked it, but it was sketchy on side hills and steep up hills.

We bought a turf tiger 61" at work about a month ago. Today was the first time I had a chance to use it. It was my first time with any ZRM, so it took me a few minutes to get used to the controls. From what I saw today, it is a fine machine. Big price tag, but you get what you pay for.
The best part of us buying the new Scag, I'm going to be first in line to buy our 24 year old Kubota B1750 with Woods finish mower. I've been using it for over half of those years, [starting 22 years ago, but less lately] so I know it has been taken care of.

I have a 61 inch Kawasaki liquid cooled Scag Wildcat that I highly recommend. The seat is very comfortable, it has tons of power, its easy to operate and maintain. I've replaced the blades several times and it's very simple to just remove the one bolt to take off the old and put on new ones. Everything is well thought out and built to last. There might be other brands out there that are similar in quality, but you won't find anything better.

I forgot to mention the seat. Smokey, the fellow how does most of the mowing at my work weighs about 140, while I weigh about 240. I didn't realize the seat was adjustable until I had finished mowing and was washing it off. At the higher speeds, the ride was a little bumpy. So I spun the dial up to 240 and took a couple of high speed laps around the parking lot. [which has about as much grass growing through the pavement as the yard] The ride was much smoother. Not near as much bounce.
