Just bought a SC2400

when I was mowing with the mmm and turned to go up a hill the unit started to lose power from 3300 down to 2000 rpms, is this normal?

thanks

First of all, welcome to TBN.....

Soooo...was it a steep hill? Thick/high grass? Tractor in Hi range? Cruise control on? Any one or a combination of these will drag down your rpm's. I have a pretty steep hill on my lawn, and mow in Lo range, when the rpm's start dropping I slow down a bit to keep em up......
Sounds like you just bought it, new purchase, go experiment with the ranges/speed and you should see a difference....

one neat feature of the SC2400 is the shift on the fly range selection so if you get into a steep hill and don't want to change your cruise setting you can drop into low and then back into high when you get to the stop, without touching the pedal. remember that hydro trans pedals are not fuel feeds, in other words, when the engine loads up, less pedal is required, many people will instinctively push the pedal down more which makes the situation worse not better.

I mow a lot of really steep ditches and water resevoirs some of them I am going up over 55% that does take a little power but not near as much as heavy grass
I still am impressed with the power and quality this unit mows very seldom dogs down
