Sc2400 50 hour service

I was wondering who all has had this done and if they did it themself or had the dealer do it?

I spoke with my dealer today and to have everything that Cub recommends, it would be between $300-$400. I'm thinking of having the dealer do it due to warranty reasons, but I think I can handle changing the engine oil, fuel filter, trans oil/filter and replacing the axle fluids. The axle fluids might be the hardest, but maybe not.

I plan on doing my 50hr service myself. No need to pay 300-400 dollars for something I can do for the cost of parts... which, is no where near 300-400 dollars.

It looks like the manual just has that every 50 hours you should check the front axle case oil. At 500 hours you should change it.

After looking over the manual, I don't know what my dealer was talking about. He probably was just shooting things off the top of his head thinking about other models.

I think I'll be doing the 50 hour service myself as like Hozen said,

It's quite simple. No need to shell out that kind of dough for what amounts to two oil changes.

Did not have the time to do mine, so while I was on vacation a couple a weeks ago the dealer did mine.

1.5 Hours labor-$94.50
Pick Up & Delivery-$65.00
Tax-$19.86

Total-$268.11

I think they were off on the engine oil, but I did not mention it.

I think that last post proves my point. Nearly 60% of the cost was labor and pickup and delivery. I got all my stuff from RF Houtz & Son Cub Cadet Tractor Mower Zero Turn Z Parts Part Lawn Garden Tractors Tank Equipment Used because my local dealer is pretty worthless and didn't have ANYTHING I needed in stock... at all.

On the other side, if you don't know how or don't feel comfortable doing it, the 159.50 may be cheap insurance...

I just got my 2450 and was told by the mechanic that delivered it to do the 50 hr myself. He explained all of the points that need things done and he said just keep all of the receipts for the parts you use just in case someone asks. Sounds about right same with a truck.

I only have short hours on the tractor and at this rate it will take me a month to get the hours.

Yes the street pad kit is for the backhoe stabilizers, 4 rubber pads with 2 bolts sticking out of each pad.

I deal with several Cub dealers, and Rob Houtz is one of the best to deal with. I've bought several tractors and numerous parts from there, highly recommended.
I'm not looking forward to my upcoming 50 hr servicing.....for 3 of my Cubs in October....$$$....not to mention the UTV is overdue.....and F350 coming up....$$$$$$. Definitely garage time for me! Will have to figure out some kind of "mass oil changing". Good news is....I'll have some more brush fire tinder.....!

Engine oil filter - $9.98
Fuel/Water sperator filter - $7.48
Hydralic trans filter - $36.63
Metal inline fuel filter - $34.78 - Not sure if this is needed to be changed at this time or not, but thought I would check the price.
He couldn't find the price on the air filter nor did he have one in stock so he said he would just give me one out of a new machine off the lot.

He didn't give me a price on the engine oil or hydraulic fluid so I'm not sure what that's going to cost. I'm planing on picking these up on Saturday unless something comes up.

When my Supplier came out to exchange my BH Assy I had them bring everything for my 50 hr service; for me to do somewhere down the road.

Cost was $95 for all oils and filters required for this servicing.

Pricing on this stuff varies but I thin they gave me a good price.

Just wish they were closer, MA for me vs NY for them.
