I've lost FOUR cats to fishers. I also did some research: mustellidae family, which includes all those long mammals- mink, otter, weasel, ferret... the largest member of mustellidae is the fisher's cousin, the wolverine.
Also- fishers are the fastest mammal alive either UP or DOWN a tree. If a cat gets chased, where does it go? One of our female cats only survived 3 separate fisher attacks because she was so light she could get far enough out on a small branch that the fisher wouldn't follow. Got some good gashes out it, though.
