I recently bought a Satoh s650g tractor and have a stupid question, but it is bothering me. When I turn the headlights on the second setting after the guage light (i assume low beams) turns on the left light (sitting on the tractor) and the third setting (i assume high beams). Is this the way the tractor works or do i have some issue there. I bought new bulbs thinking maybe the low is burned out on one and the high on the other, but no luck. Any assistance will be much appreciated!

You are correct as the function of the switch settings. Your headlamps are actualy low and high beam. Actual light bulb (element) has two elements. Specs are 25 watt/ 25watt 12 volt. It is possible that one of the filaments on each bulb may have broke or burned out. You could check these easily with a multimeter to see if theyre ok. Another possibility is to check for broken, shorted out, or melted together wires in your wiring harness that goes from your light switch all the way to the bulb sockets.
Incedently as to finding these bulbs these are similar to bulbs that were used in some snowmobiles.
My satoh bison also had similar headlamp issues.
Good luck!

If they are the same as many of the smaller Satohs, you can also find them at a motorcycle dealer. Take one with you.

I second what Lebby is saying. I had similar issues with left only lamp and high beams on low etc...
After some hunting around I discovered the "SH-25" bulbs stood for "scooter headlamp, 25 Watt". I got them off the shelf for about $9.00 taxes incl. for a four pack at a motorcycle shop. International and Mitsubishi dealers wanted $20.00 a bulb, three weeks plus order time???

With good bulbs installed, I discovered that the quick connects on the harness going to the hood (where it tilts and removes at the lower left frame) just needed to be swapped back to their correct positions to get high and low beams, as well as my original left right puzzle sorted out.
All is working fine now.

A buck saved here and a buck saved there..... This all adds up.
Now if we could only figure out how to save the time. Wher does it go?

WWHQ,
Where did you purchase those SH-25 headlamps? I was checking around, but the shops ask for a specific model and mentioning the Satoh S650G just confuses them. Also, anyone know where I can find parts/assembly drawings for the Satoh?

hoosier1;
I purchased my bulbs at a Honda and Kawasaki dealer couple of years ago. Stopped in at the dealership to get some #s from him today. He wrote down three different sources for these bulbs. Had a problem with his handwriting, guess I should have been reading with it as he wrote it down. Oh Well. He did tell me they were about $3-4 apiece.
I did end up with one good #. It is Eiko A-3603 12V 25/25W Part # A3603-BP
Comes up on the 'net as being a replacement bulb for several applications including Honda Sportrax's, Kawasaki, Polaris and Yamaha. Imbelieve some of these were like ATVs. Prices on these were around $6 per 2pk carton.
Also checked out website at 1000 Bulbs. Used the Eiko # listed above. Wow! You can get a 10 Pk for $6.33. Course then there is shipping which is about $10. Still would figure out to be only #1.63 / bulb and probably never have to buy any more ever again.

Hope this helps out

Thanks so much Lebby. My entire reflector are missing on both sides of my Satoh S650G. I thought maybe this was built like a headlamp on a car as a whole unit. I wonder if there is a part for the reflector that can be purchased as well from the motorcycle shop? I may take some measurements and stop by one of the shops.
