satoh s370 clutch not releasing

I am in the process putting my satoh back together got the wheels on went to move it pushed the clutch down did not release? I put the same clutch linkage back on it when I finished painting it. any help would be great. thanks

I am not familiar with your tractor. Is the clutch manual or hydraulic?

If manual, did you feel the pressure of the plate springs when you pushed in the clutch ?

If hydraulic, has the air been bled out?

Pretty sure there is lots owners that have had stuck clutches. My S373D did it. They just stick themselves together with rust, and do not disengage. Tried going through where the steering box mounts, no access. Ended up splitting to fix.

it is mechanical was working ok weeks ago when I took it apart for painting. will separate and check clutch psi plate an all not sure when it was last changed good time as any to check and fix now.thanks

I had a friend who had a Ford 8n that they got in the lake while dragging the beach and the clutch stuck tight. They tried different things, and finally ended up starting it in gear (somehow) or towing it, and slamming on the brakes. It took several tries, but eventually, the clutch released.

have new clutch psi plate release bearing and new pilot bushing installed now

I hope you smeared a little never seize on the input shaft.
