Satoh S-550G

I don't know a thing about Satoh tractors. Can someone enlighten me about them. Who can tell me about this model tractor - the good & the bad points.

$3800.00 - Satoh S-550G tractor with Rhino finish mower. 17 horsepower at PTO. Rhino 60" finish mower on 3 point hitch. Post hole digger. 3 point with 12" Auger.

newbie here to tractors.from reading the posts satoh tractors are strong workers for their size.if this one is gas or diesel i do not know.owners of satoh swear that their tractors have a lot of heart.if this one starts right up and runs fine you may like it for the price.try starting it in cold weather.parts could be a problem. you have to shop the net.

Although I've been reading posts on this board for several months, this was my first post. Not a newbie to farm tractors but yes when it comes to foreign brands, grays or otherwise. I ran across an ad for the Satoh and I was curious because of the price and what attachments it had and considered looking at it. It was actualy $3500 and I made a typo. Since I posted, I learned that this Satoh is a gas job with a Mazda industrial 4cyl. Parts could be a problem w/o relying on the Web. I'm used to getting my parts locally for US made tractors. I decided to stay away from it for that reason.

how many grays do u find on farms?arent they more for hobby farming.

My Father has Satoh 650-G with 6 foot bush hog and front blade. It is an excellent tractor. Its alittle light especially up front with the mower attached. We've replaced several parts and have never had a hard time finding same them. Ron L. (New Park Pa)

The Sotah gas engine shares lots of parts with a Ford Ranger that was equipped with the same engine so lots of maintainance parts are readily available.

When it comes to tractor specific parts there are a few members on this site that specialize in supplying them so at right price/condition they are not to be overlooked.

The Sotah/Mitsubishi line is still preferable to the 'GREYS'..Bothe Sotah and Mitsubishi were distributed and supported in Can and USA for a number of years.
Also some Ford and others were branded Mitsubishi tractors.
