Satoh Beaver Attachments

I have a Satah Beaver and wanted to know what attachments may be available for this tractor. Also would like to know how to find out how old it is. It is a S370 diesel.

Though there are no production records available, the Satoh Beaver was built from 1978 to 1982. Because of its age, no one is currently making attachments specifically for it. Three point attachments with category 0 (5/8") pins can be used unless they are pto driven. The pto is an 18 spline 25mm shaft and is reverse rotation. Therefore, pto driven implements designed for the tractor must be found. Once in a while I come upon one to sell. Let me know what you are looking for. Email vppinc@rev.net or call 800-609-5110. Not all Beavers are created equally! The newer U.S. model had a clockwise rotating 6 spline standard PTO. Makes it much easer to find implements!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have been told by a tractor dealer that you can sharpen the blades on the other side on a rough cut mower and run it backwards with no problems. I would assume you can do the same with a finish mower as long as the discharge is to the rear

Its not quite that simple for a finish mower as there is an upward bend on the trailing edge of the blade to create vacuum or lift to suck the grass upward while cutting so you don't leave strips of longer grass where the tractor tires smashed the grass down. However, you may be able to find an equivalent blade for the opposite direction of rotation. I think that most finish mowers already have the opposite rotation direction (left discharge) as compared to belly mowers.

One other consideration with a finish mower. If you reverse the rotation the blades will loosen and come off. You would also have to change the blade shafts. Bill - satohparts.com
