any opinions on Craftsmen garden tractor for discing

If the soil is already worked up a proper disk at proper angles will require too much traction for your tractor. If the land isn't worked the disk will just ride on top doing little discing.

thank you-that makes a lot of sense. I just had it deep disked-so I was hoping to maintain it with the garden tractor/riding lawnmower.

For three acres you probably need a 16-20 horsepower, four-wheel-drive tractor, plus a 44"-48" PTO powered roto-tiller.

thanks for the info-but, with organic farming no-till is a very big part of the logic. buying a tractor seems excessive as I most likely will be using a pull behind mower the the DR trimmer mower, with just a limited tilling of very small long beds-for the annual flower rows.

TBN Administrator-You know posting this to Garden forum is really not too "cutting edge." Organic farming is intensive farming on the small scale and to group it under gardening is not in my or other farmer's best interests.
