Is it always a bad idea? I have situation where the laterals take up most of the front, and would like to cut in a driveway about 6" for stone.

Don't do anything you can't undo. It will have to be dug up some time. Maybe not in your life time, but I have seen them need dug up a few years after installation. Keeping an eye on the septic baffles is the key to a trouble free system. If the baffle rots off, and concrete baffles do, it will plug your top lines and it will need a new top end.

I agree and would have avoided it if I had known it was as big as it was (5 long laterals). The homeowner found the photos they were looking for too late. Anywho, it was just a cut so I moved it, and will seed it.
