I've got a roughly 5 acre field of sage grass. I've heard that I can spread amonium nitrate three or four times a year and that due to the ph level change, the field will convert to fescue.

Does this sound right? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Do a soil test. I bet you are low on Lime. Burn it down or cut up with a disc harrow and then sow the grass and clover mix of choice. Be sure to apply Nitrogen-Potash and Phosphate per soil test recommendations. Ken Sweet
