safety switches for starting

own a 1816 mahindra tractor. from time to time i am unable to start it unless i "wiggle" the hydrostat peddle back and forth. there is some type of sensor switch that wants the pedal in a nuetral position before you can start. some times i have to waste ten minutes playing with the pedal. has anyone else had this issue? wondering if i can just bypass the switch? any suggestions would be very helpfull

Either replace the switch, or it may just need adjusting.
