SA 424 first service

Just bought my 424 used and it has 70 hrs.
Gonna do the first service this Saturday.
Bought the sa001 maintenance kit but forgot to get hydro fluid.
Dealer is hour away so gonna buy fluid local.
Question is other than yanmar hydraulic fluid,
What can I use?
The yanmar is TF 500.

My guess is that Yanmar's hydraulic is made by someone else to their specifications, but while there could be replacement available, I would recommend getting the Yanmar fluid. I took my YT359 in for its 50 hour service, and the dealer had to wait to complete the service because they did not have enough Yanmar hydraulic fluid to "fill it up." I asked about alternative fluids with the shop manager (who does work on other brands of equipment), and he indicated that he only uses Yanmar hydraulic fluids on Yanmar equipment. Wanting to protect my warranty, I did no push the issue and waited for the factory fluid to arrive.

From my previous experiences with other hydraulic systems, the choice of fluids does matter. In one case a "compatible" fluid rendered the machinery inoperable. Fortunately, switching back to "original" fluid type got it working again. It was frustrating experience and I wasted money on the first batch of fluid.

Well 1st service done.
Oil change. Check.
Hydraulic change. Check.
Greased. Check.
Really not hard at all.
Scraped the driveway.
So far so good.

I'm finishing my 3rd year and 300 hours. For the money spent on tractor the maintenance is cheap. Not worth flirting with warranty issues. Love my 424. Could always use more power or capacity but overall perfect for our 5 acres.
