RX6620 oil used from factory

Greetings,

Curious if anyone knows what brand and weight a RX6620 would be shipped with from the factory? The reason I am asking is because I am doing the first oil change recommended t 50 hrs and perform oil sampling on all my equipment. Some data for them would be helpful for analysis.

I called the delivering dealer and they said "It could be either 10w-30 or 15w-40" Any better answers out there?

I don't care who makes it, a diesel is a diesel. If it were me, I'd use a high quality 5w-40 Synthetic like M1 or Rotella T6. Valvoline 5w40 synthetic is good, too. It's what I'm running in my 400 HP 900 lb-ft Cummins right now simply because it was on sale. One of those 3 is what I usually zero in on. Ran some Delvac one time. Didn't like it. Too thin.

Unless your Owners Manual SPECIFICALLY states another oil, it's what I'd run. They usually just tell you to run a good oil.

Rotella T6 5W40 for winter and T6 15W40 for summer months if you're in snow belt, otherwise T6 15W40 all year round in the south.

Thanks for the replies. Actually looking to see if anyone knows what oil comes in the RX6620 from the factory for my first oil analysis. Like I said I called the dealer and they didn't know specifics.

There's no point changing up oils like that. Unless you've got an oil-user on your hands, just stick with the 5w40 Syn.

If you've got an engine that likes to go through oil for one reason or another, otherwise there's just no reason to change back and forth like that. The 5w-40 is superior in every regard.

It starts flowing sooner, getting to key components faster, it warms up faster, it saps less power........ And it's not like the Dinosaur oils that use Viscosity Index Improvers (VII) to get the desired results, good Synthetic is built from the ground up to be a multi-grade oil.

I know that some engines that aren't all that well machined, or are old and half-worn-out, can go through light grade oils, especially when they're hot. In that case, yeah, go for the 15w-40. I know there are quite a few 15w-40 Synthetics out there, but -- What's the point??

Other than that, there's just no need.

To the OP. I don't know what Kioti puts in their engines from the factory. In fact, I doubt even they know what's in them. Lowest bidder, I suspect.

Sean, looks like everyone is missing your point and advising what Oil to use instead of OEM fill. LOL. However I don’t have the answer regardless, but I’m thinking that it doesn’t really make sense to do uoa on a factory fill on a new piece of equipment. For sure it will contain all kinds of breakin particles, which wouldn’t be of any concern. I’d wait and do uoa from the second change out to determine a baseline...good on you to be proactive however. I do uoa as well and am very pleased with the performance of Amsoil in my equipment. My 2 cents, Dutchy

I agree with you and thank you for your reply. I have started doing oil sampling on all of my fleet. I do not get brand new pieces very often. I was thinking that probably nobody did a break in sample so that is why I was curious what I could find on the first one. I already have the sample before I posted this thread and just may put "unknown" on the oil itself along with the hours make and model. The sampling I get in bulk from Schaeffer along with the oil so its no big expense.

When I get results I will post them in this thread.

OK here is the sample on the Kioti 4HT4 DAE Dong engine in out RX6620 at 56 hrs.

"Copper high indicating possible bearing or thrust wear. Copper may also be from cooler. Resample at normal interval. High wear and contamination levels are common during break in."

I don't think there IS factory oil. The dealer adds it and they choose what to use. Deere or Kubota is going to use their stuff, but Kioti & LS - and maybe many others - whatever the dealer stocks is what gets used. If it meets spec, that's it. So you'd have to ask your dealer what he filled it with.

Unless the engine oil is different than the hydraulic fluid and does in fact ship filled from factory - but if they ship with no hydraulic fluid, why would they ship with engine oil? Assuming all or nothing on fluids....
