Yes - the view is great. However - look closely. The "use" is difficult. There is no access to my lake on either end - cattails. The sides are vertical basaltic lava cliffs. There is no useable shore. Where water meets shore line - depth is 30 feet or more. I have built a set of stairs to access my dock - down at the far end - this side. Close examination will show the very end of the dock. Poking out at the very base of the tree - this side, far end. The lake is 80 feet deep.
This time of the year and until late August - jump off the dock or cliffs - you will perform the Jesus act - all the way back to the cliffs/dock. Even in late August - as you paddle around - your feet will feel the thermocline down at about three feet deep.
My son and his friends would jump off the big cliffs - opposite side - far end. Pull themselves back up with a gigantic rope hanging over the cliff. I enjoy sitting on the cliff edge and watching the schools of bass as the swim around - patrolling the lake.
