Years ago they were stealing tailgates real bad. I bought a lock for my tailgate which mention I had to have a key for the lock and keep the lock locked. I also bought one for the trailer hitch. After getting tired of al that locking-unlocking- locking all the time I just stopped using the locks. Still never lost a hitch or a tailgate.
