i was wondering if a k&n type air filter would harm the engine in anyway i have been on there wed site and you can give them the spec and thay have several one that match them pretty good i would leave the inter filter the same just replace the outer one with a reusable one the throw away one are killing my pocket book . the k&n is 58.00 and the paper is like 18.00 it would pay for itself quick i go threw one in about two months and i blow it out often but you can only get it so clean and boy let me tell you i can tell a big differance with a new one verses a blowed out one. seems like in the long run a reusable one make more sense than just throwing money away and you could keep a paper one around for when you clean your k&n and let it dry. just do not wont to harm the motor any advire would be helpfull. also was thinking about a prefilter over the k&n its a mesh like screen that keeps some dust off. thank

I don't see where it would be a problem, especially since you are keeping the inner filter. Just remember a diesel engine flows alot more air than a gasoline motor so I would look for one made for a diesel engine.
