Rtv 900 starter

I know this isn’t the RTV forum, but no one ever posts anything over there so I’m hoping someone on this forum can help... My rtv has begun to start intermittently. Sometimes it fires right up. Other times, it just clicks like the battery is dead. If I keep trying the key, it eventually fires. All my battery connections are tight.

One other symptom I’ve noticed - during this repeated turning of the key process, I hear what sounds like a small air compressor pump come on behind the drivers seat. I’ve never hear this before so I’m not sure it’s related at all.

Any ideas? Bad ground strap maybe?

I'd check all connections first. Then the starter solenoid. Not sure if you can buy it separate.

The noise you hear might be the electronic fuel shutoff.

Agree, start cleaning the battery cable connections at both ends, including the ground attached to the block

The key switch it self could be the problem, the relay or the starter.

Had to replace my starter after 10 years. A Kubota replacement is outrageously expensive, but you can find a generic rebuilt on Amazon for $75!
