rtv 500 winch mounting?

just got an rtv have bought a smittybuilt 3000 lb winch for it and looking to mount it. It has already come with a mount but do i need to buy the mount that i see for sale on the internet for about 50 dollars to go with it? I see under the hood where it says winch mounting plate, but that piece of metal dont seem to thick to me. or is there something else that i am missing? Thanks for the help

I would use the plate, the plate does two important things.


1) It strengthens the mounting area for the winch
2) It provides you with the holes to mount your roller fairlead.
