Hey guys anyone have a problem with the gauge for your RPM's pegging out at idol ?? Then after I have shut it down for like lunch, when I restart its back to normal !

Sounds like a bit of Carb cleaner to the cable input on the tach. Let it dry out. Then use some graphite. There is something like a centrifugal clutch within the gauge. It could be sticking.

Thanks, but the dealer said it was all electronic ??? The tractor is new I just got it in feb. and I was wondering if maybe something was dirty??? I'm gonna look if there is a cable !!!!

Assumed it was mechanical. Some electronic tachometers work for of Hall effect or magnetic reed switches. Could be the sensor has moved, poor connection or even failing. If your thinking dirty. Possible if it's a photo reflective sensor. Laser portable tachs work that way. You can goto www.agcopartsbook.com and lookup your model and look for the sensor. It can be a real PITA having to take the tractor in for a minor problem especially if it's quite a drive away and limited means to transport. Maybe you can speak with a tech on the phone to give you an idea as to it's location. Good luck.

thanks !! It is under warranty and the last time I needed something small they came out and fixed it on site, I just don't want a major problem to happen from this !!
