For sweet corn we used 30" rows. Gotta leave room to walk between rows for cultivation and picking. For green beans we usually planted with a wider spacing between rows so we could get in and pick them without fighting the runners. I would till up a space and drive over it to check out my spacing before planting anything. Just see what actually works and do it. For the past few years I used one of the hand pushed planters and my spacing may have varied a foot or two from one end to the other.
