Hi All,
Would anyone be able to help with determining the rough value of an 870 w/loader and 530 hours? I checked ebay, craigslist, tractorhouse, etc.. but didn't come up with much. It's my father in law's who used it only around his own home, but is now to elderly to use it or stay in his home, so I'm trying to help him sell it, but have no idea what the value is.

It has AG tires, rears are dry rotted and the machine is solid, but does have some spotty surface rust.. was kept outdoors. Any info or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

Looking at the web, I'm thinking $8-12K would be plenty.

870 is a great tractor...
It is a gear tractor (sync-shift with 9 forward gears and 3 reverse). I'm good with a gear tractor, but some folks aren't

Those dry rotted tires aren't going to help a sale...might be worth replacing them.
If it's MFWD (4WD), I'd ask around $12K. If it's 2WD, I'd ask around $10K. Figure on getting somewhere between $7K and $9K

Pictures will tell a lot. Those 70-series Deeres are good tractors, but the paint and finishes suffer a lot when kept outside. If it's really been outside for all of it's 26 years, I would not see anywhere close to 10 grand for it. Roy's 7-9 grand figure is probably about right.
