Rototillers??

I started looking for a rototiller for my Kubota (B6200) last fall, but quite after a while. I noticed a wide variation in prices. I want to get one for this coming spring. Do any of you have such an implement? What has been your luck with it? Where should I look?

I await your expert responses.

Tom, I've been using a Bush Hog RTS40 now for over 5 years and don't think I could do without one, but they are expensive to buy. I guess the good news is that I've had no maintenance costs at all except for a routine changing of the grease in the chain cover once, and greasing the u-joints on the driveshaft.

Tom, I've used a Befco T30 for two seasons taking care of two+ acres. This is the smallest tiller Befco makes and it has a manual side shift which means I can run it directly behind the tractor or off to one side to cover a wheel mark. Like Bird said about his not much has gone wrong with mine either but keep plenty of grease on hand. I use mine mostly for deep tilling but many of the truck farmers who go to the dealership I use buy the Befco for cultivating.

If you haven't used a tiller before please note that it is slow going if your breaking new soil. Some of the other members have some good ideas on preparing the soil that involve other implements in conjunction with the tiller.

I still use my walk behind tiller and/or a hand hoe for in-row cultivatiing. But when it's time to turn everything under the PTO tiller really does the trick.

Best part about the Befco is that it is orange and matches my L3010HST. That's what we like to see color coordinated gardening.
