L3400,
I'm shopping for a 60" tiller there is a lot of them out there and quite a price range. I do have rocky soil but don't want to spend 3 grand, Would appreciate any info :D

two words: King Kutter. The best value in a time-proven tiller. Price: (was) under $1500 on sale (I think I paid 1250 for mine)

I rest my case.

King Kutter II gear drive tiller.

I'll also vote for the King Kutter II as the best bang for the buck. Only had mine for a year but it did a great job. Simple solid construction and works as advertized.

Try HawkLine Nevada Tillers, same gearbox and drive system as King Kutter, bettter frame and less $$$$ Their toll free # 866-291-4395. TSC, Lowes and many other dealers sell them.

I'm wanting one too, but given that I'll only use it once, maybe twice a year, renting seems like the best option for me.

I rented last year... $78 for 24 hrs... but had to have them deliver it... $150 for delivery and pick up:eek::eek:
Taxes etc came to just shy of 300 for one day....

I bought mine for 1900 delivered last fall.

I've got one reserved for the first weekend in March for $120 (I'm picking it up) from Fri PM to Mon AM. I'd like to get my own, but can't justify it right now.

I only payed $150 to compleatly restore my Agric Tiller. I guess I was at the right place at the right time. I got it for free from my neighbor after it was in a barn fire. Hooked it up to my little yanmar and it works great. From the sounds of it on here, the KingKutter is the way to go. They definatly make durrable implements that will take a beating. In my case, I get to expand our garden tomarrow so i can get the tractor in there. My step Dad is gonna love using the tractor over the walk behind tiller he bought last year. Good luck with your purchase.

I found a used Caroni 4'er last spring for $600. and it was worth every penny! Knowing now how great the tractor tillers work now, I would pay the money for a new one if I had to.
This tiller chews up the soil so well that it looks almost like saw dust. It makes my walk behind look like a toy. The pic is from last spring, you can see how fine the soil is and I don't run it at full PTO speed.
I'm also tilling a small plot for a friend up the road, you might try to swap out tilling for friends and neighbors to justify one.
