I just put Rotella 5/40 weight, that's the only weight I could get. Is it ok, or is the 5 weight to low?

I'm running it in both of my diesels. Great cold weather starting. At running temps it's a 40 weight. You're fine.

Based on the pour point (-40 C). unless it get close to -20, you would be fine. It depends on how far into Maine you are. Might be good, might not be. If you use a block heater you are fine.

I know in my part of Taxachusetts we see up to -10 below & colder in some parts. For me Rotella (a dino oil), would not work to well since you are getting close to the boarder line pumping temp.

I have block heater but never use it since I never remember. For me, you should not need one unless you livewhere the temps are so low...you get the point.
