I'm looking at a 55 gal. steel tank at Northern Tool with a manual rotary pump.

Some of the 12V pump packages at N-T and elsewhere provide for a fuel filter - can / should a manual pump be equipped with a fuel filter?

(Need tank since we have a Kubota L4310 and lifting a 5-gal Poly tank 2x / week over the hood becomes slippery in winter.)

Followup ques: would a typical rotary pump / hose/ nozzle (loaded on ground)discharge the remaining fuel from the hose after operation from hood height?

I think adding a filter to a manual pump might add a bit of resistance making it harder to crank.

I've pumped a lot of fuel through a manual pump with a filter. The benefits of a filter are worth it.

That's an entirely different discussion. *If someone has a storage tank with any kind of pump, there should be a filter involved, IMHO.
*I agree.
I was just sayin A drum and a 12 volt pump might be a better option than a tank and a hand pump.
I have $69 in a 12 volt pump and $17 in a 55 gallon drum.
I don't know what the OP is looking at for the 50 Gallon tank and hand pump.

And use a filter that stops the water.

Just finished building a fuel caddy,I had a previous post looking for suggestions, I've got $40.00 in material which is 20'' sch. 10 stainless pipe,1/4'' plate for end caps. It is 3'high I just filled it and it holds 46gallons of diesel.I bought a rotary pump from tughill, that was $160.00 but I,ll tell ya it was well worth the extra money, my 2305 holds 5.5 gallons near empty it took only 3 minutes to fill it and thats with a in line filter for water and particles which I bought at TSC for $28.00.

1*Please post some pictures of this.
I'd like to see how you plumbed it all up and how you mounted the pump.
We all like pictures.

2*Was that off road fuel?
3*My pump is rated for 10 gallon PER minute.
What's this one rated at?

I'm in the process of getting set up to send pics , should be by the end of this week. The pump is rated for 10 gallons per 100 revolutions but it seems alot faster than that.If you have a northern tool catalog its on page 339, however I bought mind at grainger, there is a store not far from me.
