Does anyone have a feel if the Kubota GL3540 can easily handle a 6' Landpride rcr 1872 rotary cutter? Going by the 5hp at the PTO/foot of cutter it would appear to be too large? Pretty sure the GL3540 has 28 @ the PTO in hydrostat transmission. Didn't know if anyone might have any experience with this? Had some feedback on the loader but I was wondering if anyone had any grapple experience with this machine? It would be coming with a LA724 loader. The loader rating is a lot less than the GL4240 and just want to get opinions if the 3540 is a brute or go with the 4240. Mostly clearing out 50 acres of deadfall trees/tree tops from logging. Thanks for any guidance.

For the bush hog, weight and manuverability wise, it will handle it. I chopped 18 acres of this 7' tall stuff with a L3940 and an old 6' bush hog and at times, it was all it wanted, had to slow down in some spots, but I was going pretty fast, 4 mph. If you keep the growth reasonable, 4' or so, I think a L3540 would be fine. The only time my tractor ever runs hot is when I bush hog tall stuff and the debris flying in the air clogs the radiator screen, watch it. If I had to do it all over again I would seriously look at the L4240, but I am very pleased with my L3940. Philip.
