More than once I almost got my fingers crunched between the ROPS and a tree or branch. Coming up on my list of chores is to clear an area of small trees on uneven ground for a new greenhouse. I decided to make a grab bar so I would not be tempted to grab the ROPS.
I used an old piece of 5/4" aluminum plate for the brackets, aluminum round bar for the handle, and 3/8" square u-bolts to hold it on the ROPS. The round bar was about 1.005" and would not go in the 1" hole, so I sanded off some of it on an upside down belt sander. I left the fit tight, the bar had to be hammered into the brackets, it will not come loose. I used two 3/8" set screws anyway.
The grab bar will not win any points for pretty, but it is plenty sturdy, did not take long, and cost just a few dollars. I can change the setup so it is further inside the ROPS, if need be, after I use it for a while.
I looked around for a commercial product but did not find anything suitable.
