This doesn't seem to be covered anywhere but I would like advice or to hear of experiences for lapping corrugated (wave) metal roof panels with something like Tuftex clear/translucent polycarb which has a hex or octagon profile.

Since they won't mate up the same as like panels because one is like \_/ and the other is ~ rounded... but the wavy corrugated panels are very cheap while I would like to use a few of the Tuftex because they allow light through. I have not found any other materials in this area that mate up unless doubling the cost of the opaque panels.

Maybe it can be done with some caulking to help fill in the seem or some other material? Or is this a crazy idea all together? Why Tuftex has a round wave product but only in opaque is beyond me!

Thanks in advance!
Ken

I don’t know about Lowes, but most places where I’ve bought metal roofing had matching translucent panel available. Granted, I’ve not bought a lot, but it’s not been an issue for me.

The guy that built our buildings put matching translucent panels on the side walls. They survive hail better and are less likely to leak there.
