Roll Bar Wiring TC29D

I think I found the answer for the connecting plug. Hopkins Mfg. makes "Hoppy" trailer wiring devices. In addition to the 4 pole flat connector, they also make a 2 pole version which should marry-up just right with the plug on the tractor. It comes with 24" of wire and both male & female ends. It costs $2.50 and is available from Ace Hardware online. I hope this helps!

The connection kit that comes with the version of the rear light that can be provided right from the NH dealer comes with two individual connectors and not a plug. Apparently even NH (or maybe Speaker - the manufacture of the light) didn't want to bother. The kit gives you one male and one female crimp on connectors. I just crimped them on, plugged them in and taped up the whole connector assembly. Very quick and electrically sound.

Boomer33,

Thanks for the information! It is impressive that you pulled this string out from last November; a true tractor lover, I can see.

My wife always laughs when she sees me running thru TractorByNet, or looking at tractor specs and home pages. She tells others that I spend most of my computer time running "Tractor ****". /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I love it!.. Something similar at my house.

Both me and the wife work some nights.. and I usually get home between 10:30 and 11:30, but she gets home about 12:30-1:00. I sometimes spend that time hitting the tractor subs. When this tractor 'affair' first started she would come home wondering what I was looking at hunched over the computer, I told her looking at tractors... suspiciously she didn't believe me.. unitl I showed her.. Now when she comes in and asks what I'm doing, I just mutter 'talking to my girlfriend.. be with you in a minute'... to which she says.. well at least its not tractors.. winks at me then walks on and starts getting ready for bed...

Yeah I really got in trouble the other night, my wife caught me looking at a tractor with the hood off. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Here is a photo (I hope!) of the 2 pole flat connector. I got it at Advanced Auto Parts for $1.89. It is 12" long You can make two 6" pigtails by cutting and crimping or you can use as is to make a 12" extension for the original plug in the wireing harness.

Boomer33,

We all thank you for the effort in taking the picture and submitting it for the world to review. It is "Tractorphiles" like you that continue to make this site worth my first 20 minutes on the Net.

Thanks! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Boomer33, You seem to have a knack for finding handy wiring connectors. I need your help.

I want to "splice" into my wiring harness on my TC40D so I can hook up a 7-pin trailer connector to power my tail lights/flashers on my hay wagon. John Deere offers a 7-pin kit and has the necessary wires in the tractors harness. Unfortunately, NewHolland does not.

I wanted to avoid splicing the wires to the tractor's taillight/flasher assembly. I am looking for a "T" that would fit before the tractor's tail lights assembly. The harness is triangular in shape and has three pins. I would also need a piece to plug into this "T" that goes to the the 7-pin connector.

I see on the new TC55DA that is at my dealer's lot that the 7-pin receptacle is already there but I suspect it is wired directly into the tractor's harness so that probably won't help me.

Terry,

Terry: I would much prefer to not cut & splice factory wireing also. I have used "T" adapters on several trucks in recent years and the make for a very clean installation. I think the key to successfully finding an adapter for your boomer would be to determine if any auto mfgr has used that same shape & sized three wire connector in a car or truck. Once you determine that, you can search by vehicle year, make, model etc. on the Hoppy website. They seem to have every possible connector covered, but you must search by car or truck; NOT TRACTORS! You might try calling there help line:
