Just bought a 200 hr rk24 and there is a rod underneath just hanging. Everything seems to run fine so I’m not sure if it was disconnected on purpose or important?

Looks like it's the cable for the throttle. Also called link pedal, where once you press the Forward or Reverse pedal, it will rev up the engine. Like on a vehicle.

If you set the RPMs using the hand throttle, this becomes more or less irrelevant, depending on the RPMs.
