Ok everyone, bought a house with land and it came with a john deere 4400, jd 47 backhoe and other attachments. The man i bought it from was an older gentleman who took very good care of the equipment, regular maintenance and all. anyways, my problem is that i am trying to detach the backhoe from the tractor following the owners manual to a t. but for some reason when i detach the hydraulic lines from the backhoe and reattach the line to the tractor, nothing happens. i move the rockshaft lever and the powerbeyond lever and nothing happens, no engine strain no movement or anything. i have checked the locking knob underneath the seat to make sure it is unlocked tryed it all the way loosening and tightening. hydraulics are good seen the man use three point hitch before we got the tractor. to me it seems that there is some kind of silly switch that i am missing or something. i am familiar with tractor repair but not operation. i have been told you can remove backhoe without using 3 point hitch but i dont see how that would fix my problem, which again i am unfamiliar with operation. any advice is welcome. thanks everyone
