Rocketman\'s 1430

I just got everything sorted out this past weekend - as far as "initial" attachments go. Looks like I'll be ordering the 1430 w/bar tires and arm rests. Attachments will be 4N1 bucket, power rake, and mini-hoe. My brother lives in the east and will be visiting me here in "Gods Country" (Texas Hill Country) in May. He has offered to pick the unit up for me and deliver it. So, I'll place the order in a couple weeks and have them (PT) set it in the corner until bro can pick it up.

This plan clearly deserves its own thread.

Let us know if there is anything we can do to convince your brother to visit you earlier.

Re: Rocketman\'s 1430

Good decision on the 1430 IMHO, RM. Congrats! You might want to consider forks....a most useful, multi-purpose implement that is probably the most underrated.

Re: Rocketman\'s 1430

I was having a hard time trying to decide between the 1430 and 18XX (singles). However, after I spoke with Ed at PT, I'm confident the 1430 will do what I need.

The forks are a good option. However, budget being a factor, I traded forks and box-blade for the power-rake. Ed strikes again.....he sold me on the power rake. Maybe next year (after the checkbook recovers).

I cant wait to try the power rake out! Some web searches on a "harley rake" really got me pumped about it.

Re: Rocketman\'s 1430

Which Ed did you speak with - the owner Ed Reynolds?

I thought that he would not talk to customers -

Good luck with the 1430 - we really do need someone

with a 1430 on the forum as charlie said - I was having a

difficult time deciding as well - then an almost new 1845

came up for sale locally so I bought it - I love it and all

the features it has - but I still like the 1430

dimensions - they should offer larger engine options

and the brake tender in that machine - but maybe the

bigger engine wouldn't fit

Re: Rocketman\'s 1430

I didn't write down Ed's last name. I just called in last Saturday morning (on the off chance someone would answer) and Ed picked up the phone and answered all my technical and sales questions...we spoke about 30 minutes or so. I can say that he was alot more informative than Scott had been.

Re: Rocketman\'s 1430

probably was the owner - he doesn't get on the phone -
- you probably just caught him at a strange time - I would
have liked to talk to him when making my decision - I am sure
he would have given me the information I was seeking
if i had him on the phone even though he doesn't allow his people to tell us much. Just frustrates me a little - when your spending this kind of money on a machine - information is key.

Well - I really can't wait to hear about the 1430 - I did test one when I was down there and I liked it. I think it is an ideal size for a small utility tractor
