I believe that every new engine comes with a warranty. They don't know how you are using it. Usually it is 2 yrs for home owner, and 1 yr commercial, Even then, they don't know that you are using the engine on a home owner lawn mower, etc. Most people would just take the engine in for repair if needed with warranty papers. The repair place would just honor the warranty as a home owner, if that is what you tell them. It could have been used on a water pump for your pond, or what ever.

33 hp in a pt 425? I would have to take a chance. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm sorry gentlemen, I would have to think hard about that. Too much horsepower on equipment not properly rated could be disasterous.

Even when all that power is being transmitted via hydraulic circuits, each of which has pressure relief valves...

Seems to me that the system is "governed" by those pressure relief valves...

I drove a 425 at PT with a Generac 33hp on one of my visits. Powerful machine, good engine, machine operated at higher pressures to wheel drive and PTO, thus more hp to each. PT was one of the manufactures that Generac allowed to test their engines when they decided to sell to other OEM's. PT was ready to switch totally to the Generac engines when Generac had problems getting EPA to approve emisions, After delaying production for almost two years the problem was resolved, but then Generac production laged sales so much they would not take on any new costomers. Generac has now built new production facilities and now that engines are available PT might look at them again with a little arm twisting, but again PT may be tired of all the delays.
I might buy the 425 with Generac, its a great machine, my other 425 is getting some age.

The Robin 22HP and 25HP engines look like they are interchangeable. Same base size, bolting ring, and shaft diameter (slightly different shaft length). $1299 for 22HP, $1499 for 25HP. Can't remember the source; maybe Northern Tool or maybe I found this in an online retailer.

You'd deffinately be a good candidate for endurance and performance testing. How many PTs do you have now?

Seven (I think) that we use. Bought 12 PT422's and sold with an attachment we are testing to pick up trash in parks, etc.
