Road lights safety question

/ Road lights safety question #11
Posted this in Safety forum, but realized that forum is mostly stories about "already happened " issue. Thought I 'd try here. I just got finished building a deck and back wall on a KK carryall. I didn 't notice 'till I finished that in raised position my tail lights and flasher lights are covered up. Also SMV sign on back of seat is partially covered. I live in Louisiana. I don 't do ,much public road driving at all and when I do its only a 1/4 mile or so. I wonder if I can travel legal on public road with just a visible SMV sign on carryall.

Some tractors have an option for remote lights. Basically like a trailer plug. Implements which block the tractor lights have their own SMV & lights which plug into the tractor. Same idea as a trailer behind a vehicle. This might be an easy option.

For this same reason, I added SMV signs to the rear of my 10' and 15' mowers, in case a driver couldn't see the tractor rear flasher, or fender mount smv... the rear smv's also let the driver know exactly where the rear of the towed implement is.

the more visibility the better... I probably went overboard with one on each corner of the 10's mower ( 2 smv's )... and one on each segment of the 15' batwing ( 3 smv's ).. but the more peopl esee me.. the better.

I also used the red/white reflective dot tape ont he sides and rear of the mowers.

In Pa the law requires the sign and flashing lights. Lately I have become very concerned about insurance. I do not know if it is different in other states but in Pa.your home owners policy is not good once you leave your property. So if you cross the road to help a neighbor, and get in an accident you may not be covered. You just might be heading for law suits. I checked my insurance company wants me to get a commercial policy that will cover my tractor but cost almost $900.00 a year.

Thanks for the reminder. I have such a hookup on my B2320 under right fender that I had forgotten about. It was on TBN that I first heard about it.

Checking your policy is a good idea.

For instance, my policy differes from yours. My policy doesn't end at the road. For instance, if I leave my one property, and road my tractor 4 miles down the road to my other property, and I'm not doing anything for anybody else.. then I'm covered round trip on both properties.

Now.. If I stop and mow somebodies yard for instance.. then i need a comercial rider as you were told about.
