RK55SC Draft

Has anyone used the draft control on the RK55? I know what it does, and have played with it, but the book does not explain how to set it/use it.

Only way to set the draft is put your soil engaging implement on and take a few practice swipes in the field . Remember the draft system raises and lowers based on the load/ resistance it senses, the farther forward you adjust the lever the deeper your implement will go before that load setting is reached. I always use the position control in conjunction with the draft, i.e. Set the position a little below the draft lever position, this will prevent the implement from takeing a deep dive before the draft sensing can react. If you're soil conditions are not consistent and vary from light/sand to heavy/clay from one end of the field to other the implement will want to go deeper in the light soil and raise when it hits the heavy, makes it tough in that situation to maintain a depth and possibly using just the position control will work better. Don't go too fast that the draft system can't keep up. What is the implement your wanting to use? B

Seven, I have a 2 bottom 12" JD plow, all Hard Clay. I have played around with it, and pretty much did what you suggested and after quite a few runs was able to get it adjusted. The Manual is very basic, only showing that control is for draft. I watched quite a few UTube videos of other Brands that where very helpful, and put the pieces together. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

Jeff, thanks for the links. I had already read most of them, but was searching for more of a RK55 setup instructions, as many tractors have different systems, and the Manual is no help. I believe I have pieced it all together now. I appreciate your input.
