I'm interested in buying a rip n dig since I sold my front backhoe. Plus I was one of the original RR buyers and know them to be a great company with a great product. I bought pre Tractor Supply distributor, direct from RR Company. Still using yours, anyone else using one? You or anyone want to sell one?

I haven't used mine for some time now. I guess I could sell it. Make me an offer, you pay shipping whatever that might be. Maybe I should post up a recent picture. It's been sitting out.

edit: see my post below for pic.

I've been thinking of buying one but have a concern that it would be difficult to accurately position the device because the view would be blocked by the front of the tractor? :confused3:

I have the forks mounted version so I can see exactly where it goes. I'd think that a simple guide stick of some sort would make it pretty easy to locate left to right. You should be able to see the device itself sticking down from the bucket when you dump the bucket while it is in the air and still see the point of contact with the ground when it touches.

Ok. I went out and looked at and took some pictures. I had forgotten that one of the ratchet handles got bent. I probably ran over it. It might work or might have to be replaced. You would also need to supply the 2 clevis links.

Let me know if you are interested.

Edit: JohnThomas, you could actually use the ratchet straps from your Ratchet Rake. They are identical. In the pic the handle on the right strap is the one that's bent. The bolts for the ripper are probably rusty, haven't tried them. The T handles are rusty and you'ld have to work them loose. I'm sure you could handle it. So if you want it for $100 plus shipping. Let me know.

I bought a Rip & Dig a few months ago in anticipation of digging a new trench to re-route the overflow from our small lake. Haven't used it yet, though, and probably won't now until next Spring or Summer. I also bought a Ratchet Rake at the same time, and have used that several times already. Great tool.

I bought a rip and dig and used it a bit on my JD955. I haven't yet used it on my L4701 and I suspect I'll have a little more success but I didn't care much for it on the 33 horse JD. Since it attaches at the end of your bucket and then sticks out another 30" or so, your're really out there and lose a lot of leverage. You'd be MUCH better off buying a stump bucket IMO if you want something like this assuming you have a SSQA FEL. They had a very small stump bucket at the dealership that was easily as long as the Rip and Dig for something like $425. With a long snout and sharp front edge, i think it would do most everything the Rip and Dig would do but would be back against the FEL arms and give back a lot more leverage.
