I had a B2920, about the same size as your 2650. I had a Howse 4' box blade that actually measured a little bigger than 48", and it was an ideal size for the tractor. I would not go wider than the rear wheels by more than a couple inches for usability purposes. The other thing to consider is traction; the B series are light for their HP. Even with a 4' box, it could easily stop my B dead in its tracks when the box filled up. A bigger box would have been worse.

On my L3200 now, I have a 60" box. It works well, both with the added traction this heavier tractor has and as a good fit to cover the tire tracks. No way I would have wanted a 60" box on my smaller B.

BTW, the correct width should be based on the tire contact tread width, so that you can cover your tracks. Usually tread width is several inches narrower than the outer width of the tire sidewalls. So don't be alarmed if the box is narrower than the tire sidewalls. Knowing the dimensions of the B series well, I'd say a 4' box is just right. I don't see a point in going larger on such a light tractor. I think your dealer was correct.

Thanks for all the speedy replies, much appreciated. The underlying consensus seems to be the scraper should be as wide or slightly wider than your rear tires. The tire width on the B2650 is min. tread of 53.7 inches. with that being the case, looks like I'll go with the 60" box scraper. Thanks again great forum.

Kubota Manuals list the recommended max. sizes for many implements. My B2320 has 54" and 375# listed. Your B2650 should probably handle a 60". If you don't have the manual in your hands yet, ask the dealer to look it up (he may learn something too, like what kind of info is available in the manual). Landpride makes a nice 54" BB.

u will be able to stop tractor in some cases even with the 4 footer. i just put a 72 inch on a tractor that is 63 inches wide tractor has plenty of weight and enough power but it is at its limit. works great mostly but with all 6 scrapers down in hard pack even with no roots i can stop tractor. a 66 inch would have been better but it was special order.

I think you're going the right way. I had a 4' box blade when I had a B7100 Kubota, but when I traded the tractor for a B2710, I also traded for a 5' box blade.

I agree. A 4' box blade would be too small and you probably wouldn't like it. Just my :2cents:

That sounds just about perfect for the stated track width.
